Tyson adds to its Simple Ingredients Series with High Protein Chicken Bites and Strips

Tyson High Protein Chicken Bites And Strips

The food giant Tyson really surprised us a few months ago when it came out with its Simple Ingredients Series, and the first innovation in that family was High Protein Chicken Nuggets. The company took the concept we had seen done by a few others, most notably Real Good Foods, and put it under the Tyson banner. The product is far better than standard chicken nuggets in terms of macros, packing 23g of protein per serving and only 1g of carbohydrates.

Tyson has since come out with a couple of other entries in the Simple Ingredients Series, introducing High Protein Chicken Breast Strips and High Protein Boneless Chicken Bites. The interesting part about these two is that they aren’t as functionally impressive as the chicken nuggets or even the protein bites and strips from Real Good Foods. The brand makes its newest Simple Ingredient products with chicken breast, wheat flour, chicken broth, and seasoning ingredients.

The macros aren’t too far off Tyson’s previously released Lightly Breaded Chicken Bites and Strips, being marginally better in protein and lower in carbohydrates, with 20g of protein in a serving, 8g of fat, 7g of carbohydrates with only a gram of that sugar, and 180 calories. They are respectable extensions to the brand’s Simple Ingredients collection, and while we would like to have seen more functionality with the high protein and low carbs, it’s still great to see a giant like Tyson turning its attention to protein and a clean and simple set of ingredients.
