Plant-based meat maker Beyond Meat introduces a canned protein drink

Beyond Meat Beyond Immerse Protein Drink

When you hear the name Beyond Meat, you immediately think of plant-based meat; that’s what it’s been known for since its inception, offering consumers a food that is vegan-friendly while also having a meat-like texture to it. It’s an interesting concept, but far from the direction of the innovation that has it on our radar this week, as Beyond Meat has launched its very own light and refreshing canned protein drink.

Beyond Immerse is the functional beverage from Beyond Meat, which is a huge surprise considering where the company usually plays and competes. The ready-to-drink protein supplement relies on hydrolyzed pea protein to provide your choice of 10 or 20g of protein per can. You did indeed read that right, there are two versions of Beyond Immerse, one with 10g of protein and the other 20g, and outside of that, they’re practically identical.

Beyond Immerse Protein Drink

Despite having twice the protein, the Beyond Immerse Protein Drink with 20g of the muscle-building macronutrient has the same 9g of carbohydrates per can as the 10g offering, 7g of that fiber and a gram sugar, no fat, and 40 more calories at 100, all of that difference coming from the protein. The innovation is impressively lean, and even more so in the Beyond Immerse with 20g of protein sitting at an even 100 calories.

Beyond Meat keeps with its vegan-friendly and protein-focused themes in its ready-to-drink protein debut; however, it’s definitely not what we expected from the plant-based meat maker. To add even more functionality, the beverage is infused with vitamin C and electrolytes. Beyond Immerse is available from beyondtestkitchen.com in Lemon Lime, Orange Tangerine, and Peach Mango flavors at $29.95 for the 10g of protein and $34.95 for the 20g.
