Newcomer GYRP has plenty of standout features in its sustained-release protein bar

Gryp Protein Bar

We always enjoy seeing newcomers to the functional food industry due to how much more variety and opportunity for innovation there is. There is always more room to change things up in terms of format, shape, texture, build, and nutrition, with brands able to craft something and market it towards specific crowds. GRYP is one of the newest players in the protein snacking game, and it packs quite a few highlights into its debut product to set itself apart.

One of the key standouts from GRYP in its GRYP Protein Bar is the alternative approach to protein and the sources it uses. Instead of going with just whey or even infusing a bit of collagen, the brand has packed in a blend, similar to what you get in a protein powder, for a more sustained, slow release of amino acids for lasting recovery. Each bar comes with 25g of protein from a blend that’s predominantly casein, then whey isolate, milk isolate, and skim milk powder.

While the sources of protein are key components, the GRYP Protein Bar also comes through with an impressively lean nutrition balance. Alongside the 25g of protein is 3g of fat, 22 to 27g of carbohydrates, which breaks down to 5 to 7g fiber, 11g allulose, 5 to 8g glycerin and no sugar alcohols, leaving a net carb count of 2 to 4g. The profile changes from flavor to flavor, with the overall calories getting as low as 170 in the chocolate-covered, marshmallow and almond filled Rocky Road flavor.

There are two other tastes for the GRYP Protein Bar, and they are similarly tasty with Strawberries & Cream featuring real strawberries, vanilla cream, and a pink chocolate, and Peanut Butter Choco Chunk with chunks of chocolate, peanuts, and milk crisps. GRYP has plenty to offer that you won’t find elsewhere in nutrition, recovery, and flavors, and it’s available from grypbar.com at a premium $44 for a box using code “GRYP30” or $17.98 for a three-piece sampler.
