Near the end of last year, Barebells launched a whole new protein bar in Germany, separate from its many other products in the bar format, like the candy-like Chewy Protein Bar, the signature Barebells Protein Bar, and Soft Protein Bar. The functional innovation initially only made available in Germany is the Spread Protein Bar, officially referred to as Barebells Gooey Bar, featuring a doughy base, a large filling of gooey spread inside the top, and a crispy and crunchy flavorful outer.
The first two flavors of the Spread or Gooey Protein Bar were Hazelnut Spread and Chocolate Spread, and starting this week, there is a third entry on the menu of the newest Barebells protein snack in Pistachio Spread. It is a Dubai Chocolate-inspired creation, blending a delicious doughy base topped with a thick, soft, and creamy pistachio filling and a rich chocolate covering providing 15g of protein in a moderate 45g bar, no added sugar, low carbohydrates, and around 160 calories.
The big difference with the third flavor of Barebells Gooey Bar, Pistachio Spread, isn’t so much the unique taste of it, but also the fact that it’s the first flavor of the product to be available outside of Germany. This one has been released specifically in Sweden, the brand’s home country, with no mention of it going anywhere else. It’s a sign that the Spread Bar or Barebells Gooey Protein Bar has found great early success, which could lead to more flavors than just Pistachio Spread.
