ProBrands drops Clear Protein Soda with caffeine and glycine as its main ingredient

From Stack3d
Probrands Clear Protein Soda

ProBrands is one of the more notable names in functional foods and beverages in Sweden, and it stands out with its eye-catching colors, flavor-marketed products, and strong shelf presence. It has protein shakes, protein bars in a variety of sizes, protein chips, and even protein popcorn. Clearly, the innovative brand has experience in putting protein into all sorts of shapes and sizes, and its latest venture is a format that has proven popular here in Clear Protein Soda.

ProBrands has joined the fast-growing list of health and nutrition companies offering a canned beverage that is packed full of protein, and instead of coming in the traditional milkshake flavors like chocolate and vanilla, this menu is exclusively fruity. The product claims 15g of protein in its 330ml can without any sugar or carbohydrates, leading to a low 60 calories, all from protein, and for added functionality, there is an infusion of caffeine, specifically 105mg per can.

The surprising twist with this one is that ProBrands isn’t using a complete source of protein for Clear Protein Soda, like whey or milk, nor is it even using collagen, as we’ve seen from others. The main ingredient in the beverage is the amino acid glycine, with some BCAAs in there too, which is all we can see that’s in the formula to provide any sort of protein.

Knowing ProBrands experience in functional foods, drinks, and protein, we would’ve expected something like whey isolate or even collagen for the protein. This is our first time seeing a clear protein drink that primarily claims its protein from a single amino acid. Either way, just be aware that you’re getting 15g of protein from incomplete sources, and there are three flavors to choose from, all the same inside with Peachy Paradise, Green Burst, and Fruity Fusion.
