Bold is one of the biggest and, dare we say, boldest, functional food companies in Brazil, not just by way of how many different protein products and snacks it has available, but also its massive presence across the country. You can find Bold and varied collections of its catalog in specialized supplement stores as well as convenience and supermarkets, and better yet, it has something for everyone with the two sizes of its traditional Bold Bar, the thin Bold Tube, and the crispy Bold Crunch.
The news today is that Bold Snacks has been acquired by the Ferrero Group, a major corporation that also owns Nutella, Kinder, the iconic Tic Tac, and, of course, Ferrero Rocher. It’s a strong purchase, as again, Bold is one of, if not the biggest name in protein snacking in Brazil, and has continued to grow year after year. This isn’t Ferrero’s first entry in the health space; it has a few other names you may be familiar with under its banner in Fulfil from Europe and the wafer-style Power Crunch.
It doesn’t sound like there will be any major changes made to Bold Snacks and its selection of tasty protein-packed snacks, foods, and supplements, putting fans’ minds at ease. Since taking over Fulfil and Power Crunch, the Ferrero Group has dialed down the innovation, as we don’t see much from either of them anymore; however, the availability and presence remain strong.
