The Brazilian functional food company Bold, recently acquired by the giant food corporation the Ferrero Group, already has a ridiculous number of shapes, sizes, and formats covered, and we mean a lot. The creative brand has a standard protein bar in a couple of sizes with varying amounts of protein, as well as its long, thin Bold Tube and the crispy Bold Crunch. New to the collection this month is yet another bar-shaped product in the Bold Protein Wafer.
The newly released Bold Protein Wafer comes with layers of crispy wafer and gooey layers of flavor, wrapped in a tasty coating. It has a more moderate 10g of protein, 12 to 13g of fat, only a bit more than that in carbohydrates, ranging from 13 to 14g, under 3g of that sugar, and between 190 and 200 calories. Wafer-style protein snacks can sometimes be very dry, especially when the protein gets up to that standard 20g, so with 10g of protein in a 40g bar, we imagine you won’t have those problems in Bold Wafer, especially with the brand’s experience.
It is worth noting that the Bold Protein Wafer is different from Bold Crunch, as the brand’s newest innovation is a true, crispy wafer snack versus Bold Crunch, which is closer to the classic Rice Krispies Treat with a body made of miniature crunchy bits. There are four flavors for Bold’s next edible protein product in White Chocolate, milk Chocolate, Hazelnut, and Speculoos, and they’re available at R$119 for a box of 12, including a mixed box with three of each.
