Zafra makes a completely saffron-based mood-enhancing beverage

Introducing Zafra Saffron Drink

The beverage world can be as creative and different as functional food, and that has become the case more and more over the last few years as newcomers pile into the energy, sports, and wellness drink categories. With the amount of active ingredients, flavors, and approaches, there are still plenty of paths for brands to take to stand out, a strategy the growing Zafra has taken under its wing with a world-first beverage innovation.

The flagship product from Zafra is a drink bringing together carbonated water, citrusy lemon juice, rose water, and at the heart of it all is a transparently dosed 36mg of actual saffron, not saffron extract. The brand is promoting the beverage alongside saffron’s familiar abilities of uplifting energy and enhanced mood. Zafra also claims it to be the world’s first saffron drink, and it is based on the many beverages we’ve come across.

The Zafra Saffron Drink is made in Italy but is sold and available in the United Arab Emirates from a few convenient platforms, including Noon Minutes, Talabat Mart, and Careem. It comes with a completely natural taste from the lemon, rose water, and saffron, and it does have some nutrition to it at 10.5g of carbohydrates and 42 calories. The cost of a 180ml bottle is around 17 AED (4.63 USD), similar to other functional beverages.
