Procter & Gamble is acquiring the premium supplement brand Thorne for $3.8 billion

From Stack3d
Procter Gamble Acquires Thorne

Procter & Gamble has officially entered the premium supplements space in a much bigger way, announcing a definitive agreement to acquire Thorne in a deal valued at a massive $3.8 billion. The acquisition gives one of the world’s largest consumer goods companies ownership of one of the most respected names in science-backed health and wellness, with the two saying they share a commitment to quality, innovation, and consumer trust.

Founded in 1984, Thorne has built its reputation through practitioner-backed supplements, high scientific standards, and vertically integrated manufacturing, growing into a brand trusted by healthcare professionals, athletes, and millions of consumers. The company says joining P&G will help it continue pursuing its mission of becoming the world’s most trusted health brand while expanding its reach and impact without compromising its values.

For P&G, the acquisition strengthens its Personal Health Care business at a time when demand for self-care, preventative wellness and personalized health continues to climb. The consumer goods giant believes Thorne perfectly complements its existing health portfolio, while Thorne gains the global scale and resources to accelerate future growth. The transaction is expected to close later this year, pending customary regulatory approvals.
