Eastern European nutrition company Protein Rex almost exclusively focuses on functional foods and protein snacks, with a whole host of bars to choose from, each differing with its own individual balance of macros, taste, and texture. Many of the brand’s products are in the classic bar format, although that changes in its latest innovation, Collagen Jelly, which doesn’t hide anything as it is exactly what it says in its name.
Protein Rex’s Collagen Jelly does contain collagen in its formula, though not in any significant amount; a more fitting name or description would be low-calorie jelly. The product combines erythritol, a bit of collagen, konjac flour, and flavoring ingredients for a snack that feels like a lot but isn’t. The nutrition profile of the innovation is half a gram of protein, around 5g of carbohydrates, all sugar alcohol from the erythritol, and just nine calories.
Again, the goal of this, despite the name Collagen Jelly, is to give you something to consume without breaking the bank or affecting your daily calorie intake. There are plenty of flavors available too, with Orange, Apple, Strawberry, Mango, and Apricot, all with 10 calories or less; in fact, Mango has only six. Protein Rex’s newest edible or drinkable item, however you think of it, is available now at around ₽1800 (22.14 USD) for 12.
