Quest Protein Cookie Review: Mouth-watering chocolate hit in every bite

quest protein cookie review

Quest Nutrition recently launched a high protein cookie through its insider group Quest Labs, simply called the Quest Protein Cookie. Being big snack fans we decided to grab a box of eight for just $19 and find out if it tastes as good as it looks, despite having almost zero sugar in each 51g cookie.

Not the best nutrition balance

Before we get into our Quest Protein Cookie review, it is definitely worth going over the macros in this one. The high protein cookie’s nutrition balance certainly isn’t on the level of a protein bar, although due to its relatively small size it does manage to keep its calorie total down. Each cookie packs 13g of protein from milk and whey isolate, with 16g of carbohydrates, 8g of that fiber and less than a gram sugar, 15g of fat (9g saturated), and 220 calories.

Mouth-watering chocolate hit

While we aren’t big protein cookie enthusiasts, the Quest Protein Cookie is hands down the best one we’ve ever had. The protein-packed snack delivers a massive chocolate hit in every bite, that’ll leave your mouth-watering for more even long after you’ve finished the cookie. The chocolate chips really shine through in the Quest Protein Cookie, making it a very chocolate dominant experience.

At first it may not look like there are that many chocolate chips in the Quest Protein Cookie, however due to each one packing a solid hit of sweet chocolate, the chips easily overpower all of its other flavors. The less exciting cookie plains do have a small role in the experience, as the smooth dough does help add a nice consistency to the overall flavor. The cookie is also not at all chewy, which helps the flavors come together that little bit easier.

If you actually put the Quest Protein Cookie beside a similarly consistent, non-protein packed cookie, and compared them by taste. It’d probably be a lot harder than you think to figure out which one is Quest’s. Its chocolate sweetness is just that good and since it stays so strong throughout the entire cookie, you don’t really get the chance to taste anything else to take you away from the trance it puts you in.

Deserves a public release

Of all the entirely new, very creative products we’ve seen go through Quest’s experimental Quest Labs this year. The Quest Protein Cookie is definitely the one we’d like to see get a public release the most. There aren’t a whole lot of protein cookies out there, so there is plenty of room for Quest to elbow its way in. While it may not have the best macro balance compared to most other edible protein competitors, its small size is enough to crush cravings but keep you from going overboard.
