Mars confirms discontinuation of its Milky Way Protein Bar

As promised, the Mars candy company has brought four all-new protein products to this year’s BodyPower Expo. Those four were all made available in the UK earlier this week, although here at BodyPower this weekend we’ve got a bit more information on them as well as the growing Mars’ line.

Firstly we did get to try all of the new Mars protein snacks, and they’re actually a lot more enjoyable than we expected. While the Snickers and Mars HiProtein bars are similar to the slightly smaller, originals, the Bounty and Snickers Protein Flapjacks are surprisingly the more impressive ones.

Flapjacks are typically quite dry and chewy, mostly due to being an oat-based snack. With the Mars Protein Flapjacks, that’s not entirely the case. Both the Bounty and Snickers Flapjacks are very easy to eat, with the oat side of them only making the bars more enjoyable by adding a nice, crumbly consistency.

The other news we got from Mars at its BodyPower booth is answers to a few questions we had. Firstly, the brand has confirmed that while its new HiProtein bars only have slightly more protein than the regular Mars and Snickers Protein Bars, it will continue to sell the originals alongside the similar HiProtein versions.

A representative from the Mars booth also revealed that it is discontinuing one of its other protein bar releases. It is the September 2017 launched Milky Way Protein Bar that the brand is going to be dropping, which means including its new four, Mars’ total number of protein bars now sits at eight.
