Mars expands its protein product lineup with Snickers and Bounty plant protein powder

Snickers Plant Protein Powder

The selection of Mars’ protein-packed products in the UK and Europe has expanded substantially over the years with many authentic candy-themed flavors of protein powder and protein bars. The bars have been the more interesting items as the brand has changed their build to suit the classic candy each is based on, such as the sweet and crumblier Bounty Hi-Protein Bar.

Mars is mixing things up with its latest offerings, as it has come out with Snickers and Bounty flavors of protein powder, although they’re not whey-based like the Snickers and Bounty powder products already out there. The candy company has introduced a plant-based protein powder in a Snickers chocolate, caramel and peanut flavor, and a Bounty dark chocolate coconut.

The nutrition profiles on the supplement’s two flavors are nowhere near as lean as Mars’ whey-based candy bar powder products, with 10 to 11g of protein per serving from pea and brown rice protein. Where things get different is alongside that protein you 11g of carbohydrates, giving you a one to one protein carb ratio, under 2g of sugar, 1.3 to 4.4g of fat, and 114 to 129 calories.

As always, the reputable sports nutrition and functional food retailer Protein Pick and Mix is one of the first to stock the Snickers and Bounty plant protein powders at £14.99 (18.81 USD) for a relatively small bag of 12 servings. Protein Pick and Mix offers its usual bulk discounts, bringing two bags down to £14.24 (17.87 USD) and four or more to £13.49 (16.93 USD).
