Genius Nutrition continues to build out its functional side with crispy protein chips

Genius Nutrition Protein Chips

Genius Nutrition built its name around robust competitors in the sports nutrition industry, including its now impressively extensive selection of pre-workouts and other types of products under the Warcry banner. In more recent years, the European brand has become more functional, releasing beverages and foods. This week, it has added a whole new sort of snack, commonly found around the globe, although this is the first time Genius has attempted it with Protein Chips.

The functional innovation is thin and crispy chips that are packed full of protein, although they aren’t anywhere near as lean as the likes of Quest’s flavorful Protein Chips and Legendary’s crunchy creation, also called Protein Chips. Genius Nutrition makes its Protein Chips with lentils as the main ingredient, then corn flour and rice flour, leading to a respectable 11g of protein per bag but a hefty carbohydrate count of just over 40g, around a gram of that sugar, and 335 calories.

The protein-to-calorie ratio of Genius Nutrition’s Protein Chips is not great, again, not even close to the 18g of protein and 140 calories of Quest Protein Chips. The lentil base and heavy macros should make for a more filling snack, and the flavors are half traditional with Sour Cream & Onion and something a little less common for chips in Smoked Ham. You can get the product from any of Genius’ usual stockists or go straight to the brand’s online store, where single bags are €1.94
