Magnum launches a simpler more cost-effective alternative to its long-running Quattro

Magnum Whey 100

Magnum is long known for its Quattro protein powder, a supplement that combines four separate sources of protein, hence the name, and has spawned a few spin-offs in the Quattro Shake Series and the plant-based Vegan Quattro. That has been a staple in the brand’s long-running, extensive selection of sports nutrition supplements. It has also just been joined by something more straightforward and cost-effective for the saturated protein powder category in Magnum Whey 100.

Whey 100 from Magnum is another blend-style supplement, but instead of four sources, it relies on two whey ingredients in the traditional whey concentrate and isolate. The legacy Canadian brand transparently uses 25g of whey concentrate and 5.55g of whey isolate to yield and provide 26g of protein per serving. That is alongside 5g of carbohydrates, just a gram of sugar and a gram fiber, 1.5g of fat, and a reasonable 140 calories plus half a gram of enzymes to support digestion.

The price of Magnum’s Whey 100 is another big difference compared to Quattro, where directly through the brand’s online store, the supplement carries a regular price of $69.99 for a tub of 62 servings. Compared to the largest size of Quattro, a 4lb tub, at its standard direct price, Whey 100 works out to be 30% cheaper based on price per gram of protein. To go with the launch of the product, there is a sale where you pay a heavily discounted $52.49 in Chocolate or Vanilla.
