Skinny Food makes a couple of deliciously coated high protein rice cakes

The Skinny Food Co Protein Rice Cakes

We’re not sure if it’s the time of year, but we’ve seen a few health and nutrition companies come out with some sort of functional rice cake product. Two of the most recent would be Per4m, which announced its Mountain Joe’s Protein Rice Cakes-like competitor, and Genius Nutrition in Europe, which unveiled its clean and convenient carbohydrate source covered in yogurt. The ever-busy UK-based brand, The Skinny Food Co, is next up to bat, introducing its simply named Protein Rice Cakes.

The Skinny Food Co’s newly released Protein Rice Cakes are much closer to Genius Nutrition’s effort than Per4m’s, mostly because they come in the same flavors, where one is covered in milk chocolate and the other is yogurt. The nutrition profile of the product includes a moderate amount of protein at 11g in a serving of two cakes, but with its puffed rice base, the carbohydrates are king at 15 to 23g, 3g or less of that sugar, and calories falling at 254 for the Chocolate and 293 for the Yogurt.

The newest functional food innovation from The Skinny Food Co can be purchased immediately through its online store individually at £2.49 a piece, or if you’re supremely confident in its taste and texture, you can invest in a whole box of 12 packets at £24.99. The box does save a good amount of money, about 40 pence, although when it comes to protein snacks and better-for-you foods, we like to sample first before going all in, so it’s great that Skinny Food lets you purchase singles.
