Authorities bust a counterfeit supplement operation in Noida India

Counterfeit Supplements Caught In Noida

The quality of health and nutrition supplements is always something to be aware of, hence why we suggest sticking to quality brands that have built a reputation and are immensely reliable. In some parts of the world, that is incredibly difficult due to counterfeits, where you get units on shelves that may look like they’re from the brand you know, but they’re not. This is prominent in India, a market that has been thrust into the spotlight this month for that very reason but authorities were quick to stomp it out.

An unfortunate event has occurred in India, where Noida police uncovered a fake protein supplement manufacturing operation in Greater Noida. The case came to light when a local resident became sick after consuming products ordered online. Acting on his complaint, authorities raided a factory, where they found three men producing counterfeit protein powders, disguising their supplements as coming from a major brand and the people were named as Sahil Yadav, Harsh Aggarwal, and Amit Choubey.

The raid found a haul of counterfeit products and manufacturing equipment valued at around ₹50 lakh (58,887 USD), confirmed by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, reporting that it consists of packaging, labels, capsules, powders, and various machinery used in the operation. The group involved lacked proper licensing and targeted fitness enthusiasts via online methods. We couldn’t recognize the brand being counterfeited from pictures, but it does often happen to major players from here in the US.
