Energy drink leader Red Bull sold an incredible 12.6 billion cans in 2024

Red Bull Sells 12 Billion Cans

Here at Stack3d, we drove into the energy drink category from the sports nutrition side of things, originally sharing competitors from supplement companies and then eventually branching out to include absolutely every functional beverage possible. Coming at it from that angle, we always stumble across facts that blow our minds, similar to the highlight of Monster’s delicious and much-loved Ultra Zero energy drink line, bringing in two billion a year.

That sort of information reminds us of how large the energy drink category is and how massive some of the legendary, long-running players are. An interesting fact we were told this week was that in the entirety of last year, one of the original powerhouse brands, Red Bull, sold an insane 12.6 billion energy drinks. That is enough to give everyone in the world about one and a half cans of Red Bull each, and it’s a statistic that is well worth sharing.

It’s crazy to think that even brands that manage to sell one billion cans in a year would still be roughly one 12th the size of Red Bull. If you’ve travelled across the globe and explored the coolers of convenience stores, you’ll know that success is well-deserved and makes a lot of sense. The Austrian energy drink company is a significant presence in the US, but it dominates many other markets even more, and you can find Red Bull in an unbelievable 178 countries.
