Japan’s Savas debuts its first whey isolate powered protein beverage

Savas Whey Protein Isolate Drink

Savas in Japan has a new type of protein beverage out this week, surprisingly separate from the many others it already has on the market. The brand makes it pretty clear in its marketing how this one differentiates from the rest despite the name being somewhat ordinary in Savas Whey Protein Drink. The catch is that the rest of the brand’s competitors in the space are milk-based, while this one relies on whey to provide its quality muscle-building protein.

Again, in the marketing of the Savas Whey Protein Drink, it clearly calls out WPI, otherwise known as whey protein isolate. That is indeed a premium source, which leads to a significantly cleaner and leaner nutrition profile compared to the brand’s selection of Milk Protein Drinks. The product provides 20g of protein in a 430ml bottle alongside just 3.9g of carbohydrates, no double digits like in the Milk Proteins, zero fat, and an impressive calorie count of 94.

Basically, if you’re in Japan and on the hunt for something leaner, Savas Whey Protein Drink is what you want. To give you a comparison, the Milk Protein Drink from the brand with 20g of protein has 12g of carbohydrates and 127 calories, working out to be about 35% more in calories for the same protein. The whey isolate-powered beverage is out now in Japan and currently in just the one sweet grape flavor, Muscat.
