All-new V Riise Drink looks to offer slower-release energy with the help of isomaltulose

V Riise Energy Drink

The dominating New Zealand energy drink company, V, has launched another innovation for its space, outside of its signature V Energy Drink and the deliciously sweet, better-for-you V Refresh family. The product is the V Riise Energy Drink, which comes in two fruity flavors, and its clear point of difference comes in the actual active ingredients. The goal of the innovation is to provide slow-release energy, but it’s not achieved by way of slow-release caffeine as you might think.

V combines reconstituted fruit juice, isomaltulose, apple cider vinegar, and natural caffeine from tea, and it is the low-glycemic carbohydrate isomaltulose that supports the claim of slow-release energy and helps provide around 10g of sugar. There is actual caffeine in there for a much more noticeable energy kick, with about 101mg in a 330ml can, not a huge amount, but enough to notice, and the wellness ingredient apple cider vinegar, although there aren’t any highlights from that.

The V Riise Energy Drink is like most other offerings under the brand’s banner in that it exclusively comes in fruity flavors, with two to choose from to start, both packing the same core components and benefits, and around the same nutrition profile. Those options are Sparkling Mandarin and Sparkling Blackcurrant, and they can already be found in major supermarkets across New Zealand, including the likes of Woolsowrth and New World.
