Perfect Snacks posts a response to David’s surprising launch of cod fillets

Perfect Snacks Response To David Cod Fillets

David really surprised us earlier this week, where after it cleared out its social media and put up a few teaser posts, it went ahead and launched a new product that we’re pretty sure no one would have seen coming. For those that missed it, we got David Cod Fillets, and no, it’s not a joke. The item is a box of four 6oz wild-caught, Pacific cod fillets, stacked with protein as the meat is known for at 23g and a clean 100 calories per piece.

We suspect David did this to prove a point, show how hard it is to get the cleanest protein-to-calorie ratio possible, and compare that to how tasty its protein bar is and how good its nutrition balance is. The functional innovator went above and beyond by letting you order the cod, a move that made headlines everywhere. It also got the attention of competitors, including Perfect Snacks, maker of the deliciously smooth Perfect Bar.

Perfect Snacks went ahead and threw up a post inspired by the product drop from David, saying its flagship functional food is 100% real protein, and none of it is from fish. It’s obviously a play on the David Cod Fillets from the way that Perfect Snacks understands it, and shows that it took notice. It makes for some entertaining social content and has us interested to see what the brand decides to follow all of this up with.
