We’ve tried more better-for-you, lower calorie sauces than most, and we’re not just talking about what’s on offer here in the US, but also the powerhouse functional market over in the United Kingdom and Europe. Still to this day, there are far more health-conscious condiments on offer in that part of the world, and at some brands, the menus stretch far deeper than you could imagine. Earlier this year, Taste Flavor Co relaunched, and since then, we’ve been living with what we’ll say are the best sauces we’ve had.

The catch with Taste Flavor Co is that it doesn’t heavily rely on sugar or sweeteners for its better-for-you sauces; it’s all about real ingredients that have been strategically combined for genuine flavor without the calories. Take for example, our favorite, Buffalo Blue Cheese, which combines cayenne pepper, blue cheese, apple cider vinegar, mustard, and garlic for five calories in a 17g serving, or even double that for 34g, and you’re still only looking at ten calories.
If you’re a better-for-you sauce connoisseur like us, there is a good chance you’ve seen great nutrition on paper, and while the ingredients behind that might have been very different from what Taste Flavor Co uses, the question remains, how does it taste? As mentioned, we’ve been through bottles of the recently revamped brand and products, and are confident enough to say these are some of the best-tasting, nutrition-focused sauces we’ve ever had.
Flavor is subjective, but with Taste Flavor Co that doesn’t necessarily matter, as the brand does exactly what it says it does. What we mean by that is, those hand-picked real food ingredients back up their presence with incredibly authentic flavor. In the Sweet Honey Mustard, it tastes better than actual honey mustard in all-out tangy sweetness, and in Spicy Garlic Parm, you feel every part of it — unmissable garlic, distinct parmesan cheese, and a touch of spice.
Summary
We’ve already purchased more bottles of the Taste Flavor Co sauce, with Cherry Smoked BBQ, Buffalo Blue Cheese, and Spicy Garlic Parm being our favorites. The products are truly that good, and if you go by the regular serving size of 14 per bottle, that’s 64 cents a serving, which we can assure you is worth it. It is very much the genuine flavors in the Taste Flavor Co sauces that put it above the many other better-for-you sauces we’ve experienced. Tasting the actual ingredients in each recipe is rare to find in condiments with a focus on minimal calories, and not something we’ve ever seen with flavors as complex as the brand has on offer.
