Most of what we see these days from Australian powerhouse Muscle Nation is functional foods, as while it started in clothing and then jumped into sports nutrition supplements, the functional world is where it has exploded. The popular brand now has protein bars in many shapes, sizes, and builds; beverages; and even more familiar formats like higher protein oats and ready-to-mix protein pancake powder, all available at supermarkets.
Muscle Nation has now come out with Protein Oat Bake, another protein bar, but it has a very different build to your typical protein snack. Oat Bake is similar to what you see a lot of in the United Kingdom and the rest of Europe, in an oat-based protein flapjack. Muscle Nation Protein Oat Bake is built around wholesome and crumbly wholegrain oats infused with soy crisps to push things up to 20g of protein in a 60g bar.
The Protein Oat Bake is a nice alternative to Muscle Nation’s other snacks, as these sorts of functional products tend to have a more wholesome, traditional snack bar feel, and the oats make them more filling. The other macros in this one are 22 to 23g of carbohydrates, about half of that sugar, 11 to 13g of fat, and 282 to 296 calories, and it’s rolling out to supermarkets in Apple Cinnamon, Chocolate Chip, and Salted Caramel flavors.
