Trubar makes a school-friendly bar for kids packing as much as 9g of protein

Trubar Kids

The protein bar innovator Trubar has entered a new segment of its familiar category, or more specifically, created a product for a very different audience. The brand is known for its self-titled Trubar plant-based protein bar available in some mouthwatering flavors like Strawberry Shorty Got Cake, Get In My Belly PB & Jelly, and Sweet & Dream Cookies & Creamy. Trubar is now looking at the next generation with its all-new Trubar Kids.

The product is, of course, smaller than the original Trubar, tipping the scales at 35g versus 50g, and impressively, the nutrition balance is not too different. Trubar Kids has 8 to 9g of protein per piece, the amount you’d expect at 70% the size, 4 to 5g of sugar, and 140 calories. It is made without peanuts or tree nuts, making it proudly school-friendly for moms and dads to throw the colorful, health-focused food in their kids’ school bag.

There are three flavors on launch of Trubar Kids, different from those on the menu of the regular Trubar in Fudge-Tastic Brownie, Iced Oatmeal Blast, and Pop Goes Confetti. The successful functional company has debuted its kids protein bar at Sprouts with a price of $7.49 for a box of five to last a whole school week. A larger 12-piece pack is also coming sometime next month, and that will be available direct as well as on Amazon.
