XXL puts over 50g of protein into a block of chocolate but close to 1,000 calories

Xxl Nutritrion Protein Chocolate

XXL Nutrition in the Netherlands has become one of the most successful competitors in that part of the world, and just as impressively, it has not been resting and pumping out innovation left and right. This year, we’ve already seen FitCheese, a wheel of cheese with a heightened level of protein, deliciously smooth and carbonated Protein Lemonade, and even more interesting, BWB, Beer With Benefits, an IPA beer packing 5g of protein.

The fast-growing dutch brand XXL Nutrition is back in the news again with a rich and delicious functional chocolate aptly named Protein Chocolate. The standard Milk Chocolate variety of the product comes with 52g of protein in an entire 180g block, an almost equal 50g of carbohydrates, all but a few grams of that is sugar, and 63g of fat. While you do get extra protein, over 50g, that clearly comes with a lot more nutrition leading to 997 calories.

There are two other varieties of XXL Nutrition’s Protein Chocolate in Cookies & Cream and Salted Caramel, and they’re all primarily made with whey concentrate, milk powder, and cocoa butter. The functional innovation is essentially a better-for-you chocolate, not something you’d probably grab instead of a traditional protein bar. The protein-to-calorie ratio is closer to a mass gainer, which almost guarantees it tastes absolutely amazing, and you can try it for yourself direct through XXL’s website with blocks at €5.99 each.
