The better-for-you chocolate brand Hormbles Chormbles broke into the industry with a rich, decadent, and crispy filled candy bar. The big catch with the product was that its nutrition is very different from your standard chocolate treat, packing 10g of protein, absolutely no sugar, and an impressive 100 calories. The original was made with whey and milk isolate for the protein, the reliable sugar alternative allulose, and innovative EPG.
This month Hormbles Chormbles has revamped and relaunched its protein chocolate block, and there are some notable changes. Whey and milk isolate are still there to provide complete protein and allulose to sweeten the experience. The revamp, however, does not have the modified and lower-calorie plant fat EPG, which drastically changes the calories, where the fat is now 11g, up from 6, and the calories are 50% higher at 150.
It’ll be interesting to see how the new Hormbles Chormbles candy bar compares to the original, which we felt delivered on the texture of chocolate around all of the crispy pieces, although it didn’t quite nail the sweetness of chocolate.
