Long-running South African brand SSA adds a clear protein powder to its catalog

Ssa Nutrition Clear Whey Isolate

Clear protein has crossed borders and is now available in essentially every major market around the world, with more and more regions getting in on the subcategory month after month. The concept of light and refreshing protein shakes versus the traditional milkshake-style experience has become tremendously popular, including in South Africa. We’ve seen a few names come out with clear proteins in that country, the latest being SSA Nutrition.

Clear Whey Isolate is the relatively self-explanatory clear protein competitor from SSA Nutrition, which has just started rolling out in South Africa, and can be purchased directly through its online store. The cost straight from the long-running brand is a reasonable R524.25 (30.54 USD) for a moderate-sized tub of 520g. That works out to 20 servings in total, and it comes in two of the most traditional fruity flavors in supplements with Fruit Punch and Lemon Lime.

SSA Nutrition doesn’t color too far outside of the lines in Clear Whey Isolate, sticking to the usual approach and recipe of clear protein powder. The South African brand relies on high-end, fast-absorbing whey isolate to provide 20g of protein per serving, just a gram of carbohydrates, practically no fat, and 82 calories. All of that comes in a protein shake that tastes more like crisp fruit juice than a milkshake, and again, it’s available now to SSA fans.
