Intico in China recently took things up a notch in the protein bar category with its highest protein offering to date, which bears the same name as its lighter original competitor in High Protein Low Sugar Bar. The product has a protein percentage of 50, meaning that of its 50g weight, half of it is protein at a solid 25g per piece. The functional food company has quickly chased that up with details on a new flavor for its more traditional bar with 20g of protein.
Intico has added a combination of tastes that you see a fair amount of in the United Kingdom and Europe, not so much here in the US, and it is actually one of our favorite flavors when it’s done well. The Chinese company has introduced a Dark Chocolate Banana High Protein Low Sugar Bar, blending decadent chocolate with sweet banana. Again, you don’t see it all that often, but it can be incredibly delicious, and it’s out now in China, with 20g of protein and 202 calories.
