Costco launches a protein RTD in Canada and it costs just $1.20 a bottle

Kirkland Signature Protein Shake

Costco made a lot of noise last year when it came out with its own whey-based protein powder, which featured a very respectable formula, a quality nutrition profile, and a price that’s still very difficult for competitors to beat. The supplement was launched under the membership retailer’s house brand Kirkland Signature, and now, at least in Canada, there is a protein beverage from the store with the Kirkland Protein Shake.

Similar to Kirkland Whey Protein, the Kirkland Protein Shake is great value, and inside is a reliable and worthwhile combination of ingredients and nutrition. Every 325ml carton provides 30g of protein, as highlighted on the front of the product, coming from quality milk protein. The carbohydrates are typical for ready-to-drink protein at 5g, with only a single gram of that sugar, then you get 2.5g of fat and 160 calories.

As a quick and convenient source of protein, the Kirkland Signature Protein Shake ticks all of the boxes, and of course, coming from Costco, the price is tough to beat. Currently available in Costco Canada warehouse, you’ll pay $29.99 (21.93 USD) for a box of 18 shakes all in one Chocolate flavor. That works out to just over one US dollar a piece, about $1.20, which destroys other high-value competitors like Premier Protein.
