Rich Piana’s brand 5% Nutrition, has tackled the nighttime category a couple of times over the years with the recovery-infused Drink Sleep Grow, then much more specifically in the knockout type experience, Knocked The F*ck Out. We don’t often see the long-running 5% come out with completely new supplements all that much, but to start the New Year, that is what it has on its hands with HGH Monster, a sleep aid that also aims to support muscle growth.
5% Nutrition’s HGH Monster isn’t as deep in terms of variety of ingredients as either of those other two; it’s more focused on supporting overnight recovery and building muscle, and improving sleep with two other components. Driving the former, the brand has 1.5g of glutamine, 750mg each of arginine and GABA, also a sleep enhancer, and 700mg of mucuna, then, for sleep, there is 150mg of valerian root and a strong 4mg of the reliable sleep inducer, melatonin.
The newly released HGH Monster strikes a nice balance of recovery for better performance and muscle growth, and deep quality sleep. Again, 5% Nutrition hasn’t put the kitchen sink into the supplement, and that is somewhat reflected in the price. The cost of a full-size 30-serving bottle of the hybrid product is $36.99 before any discount, with an athlete coupon bringing it down to $31.44, and a subscription dropping HGH Monster below the $30 mark to $29.59.
