Newcomer Basyd starts with a soda packing 20g of quality BLG protein and a splash of magnesium

Basyd Protein Soda

Basyd is another health and nutrition company that we’ve been introduced to at this year’s slightly sparse FIBO Expo in Cologne, Germany, and it competes in one of the fastest-growing categories. The official title of the still relatively new brand’s flagship product is Protein Soda+, and that is precisely what it is. It is a ready-to-drink innovation with the goal of it being that it feels like traditional soda, but it has significantly more protein.

The young Basyd has gone with the traditional 20g of protein in its slim and sleek 330ml can, all from a complete and quality source in beta lactoglobulin, more commonly known and referred to as BLG. That superior source has a leaner nutrition profile than most proteins and a higher concentration of EAAs, including the all-important leucine. Alongside that muscle-building protein, Basyd Protein Soda has less than a gram of carbohydrates as well as under a gram of fat, again, an incredibly light balance, and a calorie count of just 88.

If you’re wondering what the “+” part of the title means, it’s added magnesium at a moderate 56mg per can from magnesium citrate. To provide that soda experience, Basyd Protein Soda comes exclusively in light and fruity flavors with three to choose from in Peach Passionfruit, Berry Pomegranate, and Citrus Yuzu Lime. If you’re at FIBO this year, you can stop by the brand’s booth to try its drink or grab a case of 12 from its website.
