Nutrend in Europe is a great example of a health and nutrition company that has an absolutely giant selection of products, covering every possible category and format. Even with that massive catalog, the brand continues to find room for more and more innovations, its latest being a functional granola. Nutrend has plenty of experience with putting protein into breakfast foods like pancakes and oatmeal, and now it’s done that to granola.
Protein Granola from Nutrend doesn’t get too complicated in its formula, simply combining whole grain oat flakes, a key component of granola, with wheat flakes, pea isolate for the extra protein, and flavor-specific ingredients like raspberries and cranberries in the Raspberry & Cranberry option. There are two other tastes the European giant has debuted Protein Granola in, with Almond & Pumpkin Seed and Chocolate & Almond with chocolate pieces.
The nutrition profile on the newest Nutrend functional food sits at 10g of protein in a sizeable 50g serving, with 17 to 26g of carbohydrates, around 5g of that sugar, 8 to 9g of fat, and 218 to 236 calories. The protein-to-calorie ratio isn’t as great as something like a protein shake or even a protein bar, but Protein Granola is a better-for-you alternative to standard Granola thanks to its respectable amount of protein and reasonably low sugar.
