House brand Star Nutrition from the Scandinavian group of retailers that includes Gymgrossisten and Bodystore, has revealed and released a spin-off of its signature competitor in the protein powder category, Whey-80. The regular version of the product is not all that complicated, relying on standard whey concentrate for 27g of protein in a 37g serving, with moderate carbohydrates, sugar, and fat, and a calorie count around the 140s.
One of the latest launches from Star Nutrition is Low-Lactose Whey-80, which, true to its name, is Whey-80 protein powder but specifically with lactose-free whey concentrate for its protein rather than just straight whey concentrate. The nutrition profile is pretty much the same, with the Double Rice Chocolate flavor having 28g of protein in a 37g serving, 1.6g of carbohydrates, over a gram of that sugar, 2.3g of fat, and 141 calories.
Being such a specialized supplement, the new Low-Lactose Whey-80 does cost more than the regular Whey-80 at kr 314 (33.59 USD) from Gymgrossisten versus kr 315 with the bag having 25% less inside. There are fewer flavors to choose from for the lactoseless alternative, too, with Double Rich Chocolate and Vanilla now available and a few others currently out of stock.
