Applied Nutrition has a new type of protein snack this week, and it isn’t your traditional bar, cookie, or chip, albeit somewhat along the same lines as that last one. The functional innovation is Crunchy Protein Cheese Bites, a bag of crispy bite-sized pieces made with real cheese to provide a lot of protein. The cheese isn’t anything ordinary either; it is Eatlean’s protein-packed cheese, making Applied’s Protein Cheese Bites very similar to Eatlean’s own Crunchy Cheese Bites.
Every moderate 20g bag of Applied Nutrition’s cheesy new Crunchy Protein Cheese Bites does not disappoint on protein, packing 12g, entirely from the Eatlean Protein Cheese, alongside just 1.2g of carbohydrates, no sugar, 3.6g of fat, and 86 calories. That is an incredibly lean protein-to-calorie ratio, working out to only 138 calories if you have more than a single bag to get 20g of protein, and like most functional foods, the nutrition does vary slightly from product to product.
