My New Whey Protein is a recently released protein supplement from Proteini in Slovenia, and it very much seems like a sequel or at least an evolution of the much longer-running My Whey Protein. There are a few key differences between the two, mostly revolving around the sources of protein and some added ingredients. While it is cheaper per serving, Proteini’s My New Whey is not as clean or lean as My Whey Protein.
In My New Whey Protein, Proteini switches to a blend of whey concentrate, whey isolate, and instant milk powder for its lower percentage of protein at 21g in a 30g serving. That comes alongside 4.3g of carbohydrates, just over 2g of that sugar, around a gram of fat, and 113 calories. The surprise in this one is that there is added maltodextrin, leading to more carbs than My Whey Protein, and a fair amount of glycine and some leucine.
There is no mention of how much of the amino acids are in Proteini’s My New Whey Protein, or whether or not they’re counted towards the 21g of protein. That is important as glycine and leucine can be counted as grams of protein, despite just being standalone aminos, which is what amino spiking is all about.
Proteini has launched My New Whey Protein in a small 300g bag, which is only about ten servings with that 21g of protein in each. There are three flavors in Chocolate, Cookies & Cream, and Vanilla, and the cost is pretty low, which is to be expected with the low protein percent and added maltodextrin, at €11.99 (14.15 USD).
