Dricus du Plessis’ sports drink brand moves into the hydration supplement space

Knox Hydration Supplement

Dricus du Plessis’ hydration brand Knox, which started as a canned sports drink brand, has gone down the traditional supplement path, expanding its selection to include a powder alternative that comes in convenient single-serving sachets. The team has taken the opportunity to increase some of the dosages and overall formula for the powder variety, although the core goal of supporting hydration, performance, and recovery is still there.

The newly released Knox Electrolyte Drink Mix is packed with the same amount of BCAAs as the Knox Hydrate Drink at 2.5g per serving, with a bit more taurine, also at 2.5g, for a combined 5g of amino acids, as highlighted on the packaging. Where the real changes have come is the hydration side, as the brand has put a lot more electrolytes into the flavored powder formula at a total of 661mg, including 292mg of sodium and 201mg of potassium.

Fans of Knox can now simply get the same blends of benefits and support in the form of a powder supplement in Knox Electrolyte Drink Mix. As is always the case, the cost of the stick pack variety is more cost-effective than the ready-to-drink original. Knox sells its foray into supplements in boxes of ten in Lemon Lime, Pomegranate Blackberry, and Kiwi Pineapple flavors, and the price is R119 (7.26 USD), working out to 72 cents each.
