Mrs. Taste has become one of the more creative functional food companies in Brazil, branching far beyond the low-calorie sauces and syrups that originally made it famous. In recent years, we’ve seen the brand tackle everything from protein bars and spreads to better-for-you snacks. Its latest innovation goes back to a traditional format, introducing Rosquinhas, a healthier take on the classic ring-shaped biscuit enjoyed throughout Brazil.
The product is made primarily from whole wheat flour and sweetened with stevia, resulting in a snack that is vegan-friendly, zero sugar, lactose-free, and rich in fiber. A serving of five biscuits comes with 20g of carbohydrates, none of that sugar, 3.8g of fat, 2.5g of fiber, and 110 calories. It has a light and crunchy texture with two flavors to choose from, in the rich and slightly sweet Cacau and the tropical coconut experience Flocos de Coco.
Mrs. Taste’s Rosquinhas aren’t high in protein like most of its other functional innovations; it’s more about giving consumers a better-for-you alternative to the classic Rosquinhas snack. The product is out now in the brand’s home country in bags of 150g for around R$9.90 (1.94 USD).
