Mu in Brazil has dialed up the taste, texture, and nutrition for an all-new version of its light and crunchy protein snack, Wheyfer. The popular brand has come out with Wheyfer Max, which is true to its name, being a supersized or maximized version of the functional food. It is actually twice as big as the original, tipping the scales at 50g up from 25g, basically giving you double everything from wafer and chocolate to protein and calories.
The recently released Wheyfer Max scales things up evenly, where it is slightly wider and taller, and has about 50% more creamy-topped wafer layers inside. The bigger size does result in more decadent chocolate wrapping around the bar, giving you a lot more in every bite. Again, the nutrition is about double, with twice the protein at 12g per piece, 16g of fat, 17g of carbohydrates, half a gram of sugar, and 260 calories.
Basically, if you’re a Brazilian consumer who enjoys Mu’s already available Wheyfer with its rich chocolate and crunchy wafer, but if you’ve always felt like you could do with more per bite, then Wheyfer Max is for you. A box of the maximized protein bar is obviously higher than the regular Wheyfer at R$258 (50.47 USD), which makes Wheyfer Max substantially more expensive, although that’s also because you get a bigger 20 pieces.
