Evergreen has carved out a strong position in frozen breakfast over the last several years by rethinking the traditional waffle with simple, recognizable ingredients and a better-for-you approach. Founded by Emily Groden after struggling to find a frozen breakfast she wanted to serve her own family, the Chicago-based brand has steadily expanded its retail footprint and product lineup while staying true to that real-food philosophy.
The latest innovation from Evergreen is its first protein-focused waffle, delivering 10g of protein in a single waffle, sourced naturally from Greek yogurt and eggs rather than the usual whey. The recipe also includes whole grains, avocado oil, maple syrup, and a blend of vegetables, while remaining free of preservatives and artificial flavors. The rest of the product’s macros include 18g of carbohydrates, 4.5g of fat, and 150 calories.
Evergreen’s Protein Waffles have launched in a single Homestyle flavor, giving consumers a more functional option without straying too far from the classic waffle experience. The carbohydrates and calories are still up there for 10g of protein, but the innovation is a great higher-protein alternative to the brand’s regular Homestyle waffles. The new frozen breakfast can be found at major retailers, including Kroger and ShopRite.
