Protein Wars IV, Round 1 Results: Another year, more suspicious votes

protein wars

The votes are in from last week’s Protein Wars contests, and the counting definitely took a little longer than we would have liked. Not too surprisingly we had some suspicious votes sneak into the polls this year, which as promised we simply removed from the final counts. We can’t blame any specific brand or protein as they were all spread out across several contests and supplements.

The results after the final counts turned out to be a mixture of very close and complete dominance. The competitors that started and finished strong were Muscle Sport Lean Whey winning with 46%, Optimum’s classic Gold Standard Whey with 64%, MusclePharm Combat 100% Whey with 44%, and Jim Stoppani’s transparent Pro Jym with 39%.

The rest of the battles were all pretty close with Quest Protein only just beating out PES Select by 3%, Magnum Quattro winning its very tight race with EVL’s Stacked Protein, and Aaron Singerman’s Redcon1 army coming through with a 32% victory. The closest of them all was with RSP Nutrition Whey which beat Purus Labs’ Myofeed by only one vote.

It’s now on to round 2 of the Protein Wars, where all 16 round 1 winners take on one another in more four protein battles. It’s also worth saying again that you should always vote right to the end. Last week proved that the fight isn’t over until the final count, although are implementing extra measures like we did last year for the quarterfinals, semifinals, and grand final.
