GNC’s Super Bowl commerical has been rejected by the NFL

gnc

Something we’ve heard a lot about since late last year when we first got word of GNC’s major relaunch, was that it would be running an advertisement during the upcoming Super Bowl LI. News has now surfaced this week that anyone that tunes in this Sunday for the big game won’t be seeing the supplement retailer’s highly anticipated commercial.

There is a full story now available at USA Today confirming that the NFL has rejected GNC’s ad, which was expected to be run during the first quarter. It seems the commercial was turned down due to the fact that like most supplement retailers, some of the products available at GNC do contain substances banned by the NFL such as DHEA and synephrine.

As mentioned there is a full story over at USA Today, who actually got responses on the matter direct from GNC. It is definitely a bit rough for the retailer getting this kind of news with the Patriots and Falcons clash going down in only a few days time, although it is still apparently going ahead with its customer viewing party.
