Muscletech has partnered with Rob Gronkowski, the Tight End for the New England Patriots and scorer of two touchdowns in yesterday’s Superbowl LII. The result of the partnership is a new, delicious looking protein bar called the Protein Candy Bar or more suitably the Gronk Bar.
What is it
As its name suggests, the new protein snack from Muscletech and Rob Gronkowski is a candy bar like protein snack. The product features a solid chocolate outer, a typical protein packed center, and depending on the flavor, a gooey layer of caramel and nuts, or chocolate and chocolate chips.
Nutrition profile
The delicious looking Gronk Bar provides a strong 20g of protein per bar, primarily from a fast-absorbing blend of whey isolate and whey concentrate. The other macros making up the bar include 22g of carbohydrates with 3g of that sugar and a gram fiber, 9g of fat (4g saturated), for a total of 230 calories.
The nutrition profile for Muscletech’s Gronk Bar is about the same as most other candy bar style protein snacks. The difference with this one, however, is that it’s expected to have more of a candy bar like taste to it, making it sound like a protein bar worth trying.
Flavors
The upcoming protein-packed product is due to release in two gluten-free flavors, both of which feature the mix of macros mentioned above. The two tastes are the chocolate lovers’ Chocolate Deluxe, and the one with a gooey layer of caramel and peanuts, Chocolate Caramel Peanut.
Release date
According to Muscletech, the Gronk Bar is due to launch in less than one month’s time on the first day of March. It will be available in a variety of locations including online retailers as well as convenience stores.
