Cold Stone Protein Crisp Review: BSN delivers another great bar flavor

Following the launch of its three Cold Stone Creamery protein powders, BSN has teamed up with the ice cream company once again for a new flavor of its protein bar, Protein Crisp. The addition to the already very delicious protein snack is the Cold Stone Signature Creation, Mint Mint Chocolate Chocolate Chip.

This week BSN’s Cold Stone Protein Crisp became available, and seeing as we were already big fans of the protein bar, we grabbed it for review. For those curious about its macros, it has a typical Protein Crisp nutrition profile with 20g of protein, 24g of carbohydrates, 6g of fat, and a total of 230 calories.

Review

For us, BSN’s original Vanilla Marshmallow has been our favorite Protein Crisp flavor since launching. The Cold Stone collaboration, however, might actually be the new king, if not then at least equal to the Vanilla Marshmallow as it is incredibly addictive despite us not even being mint chocolate fans.

The Cold Stone creation features Protein Crisp’s usually soft, smooth and crispy consistency along with a sweet hit of chocolate and an even sweeter dose of mint. The flavors all roll together for an extremely impressive mint chocolate experience that leaves you with a long lasting aftertaste you can enjoy.

The chocolate and mint flavors aren’t overly strong, but they stand out and somehow manage to be both light and intense at the same time. The mint is probably the more dominant flavor of the supplement, and it is also one of the best examples of a mint taste we’ve experienced in a protein bar.

Summary

If you’re a fan of mint, chocolate, or Rice Krispie style protein bars, you’re going to want to try the Cold Stone Protein Crisp. As mentioned, we’re not even fans of the flavor; however, the product has managed to turn us into fans. BSN has certainly delivered on this one, giving its already great tasting Protein Crisp another excellent option.
