Earlier this week AllMax Nutrition completely unveiled its high-protein Hexapro Protein Popcorn packing a total of 40g of protein per bag. The product’s other macros are also quite high including a hefty 116g of carbohydrates with 60g of that sugar, and an even total of 1,000 calories.
AllMax Nutrition is sampling out its all-new Protein Popcorn at this weekend’s Mr. Olympia Expo in Las Vegas, so we stopped by to try it out. We purchased a bag of each of its two flavors, Dark Chocolate Sea Salt and Chocolate Peanut Butter at $10 a piece, and as expected, it’s a great tasting snack.
Much like the popular Icon Meals Protein Popcorn, which has about 9% more calories and the same amount of protein, the AllMax Nutrition Protein Popcorn is quite the treat. It hits you with a delicious level of sweetness as soon as it enters your mouth and it only gets better as you chew through each piece.
Both flavors of the Hexapro Protein Popcorn deliver on their title tastes. The Dark Chocolate Sea Salt packs an obvious chocolate flavor with a subtle, sweet, and salty finish. The Chocolate Peanut Butter is also quite light with its chocolate and peanut butter flavors; however, they do come together for a more robust and rich experience compared to the Dark Chocolate.
Compared to the Icon Meals Protein Popcorn, AllMax Nutrition’s effort is not as thick in terms of texture and taste. You can really notice that empty, air-popped popcorn in the center, as once you bite through that thick and sweet outer, you get a more familiar, traditional popcorn consistency.
