Be Legend drops a flavor of protein based on the Japanese greens drink Aojiru

be legend aojiru based protein powder

The consistently creative, collaborative, and special edition brand Be Legend, out of Japan, is back this month, releasing another two limited-time flavors of protein powder. As mentioned, this is something the brand tends to do quite often, with its latest effort being the return of a product we saw last year alongside something we haven’t seen from it before but just as interesting.

Be Legend’s returning special edition flavor is Sakura Mochi, based on the food of the same name, which is a traditional Japanese treat featuring a pink rice cake with a red bean center, all wrapped in a cherry blossom leaf. The other flavor is Aojiru, also based on a traditional Japanese item, which is a superfood drink typically made with a combination of kale and barley grass. Those ingredients are actually in the protein powder as well as spinach, carrot, sweet potato, and squash.

Be Legend’s Sakura Mochi is powered by whey concentrate, while Aojiru relies on premium whey isolate, in turn giving it a leaner nutrition profile led by 23g of protein with 104 calories. The products are available now through from brand’s retail partner Real Style with Sakura Mochi at ¥3,200 (29.38 USD) and ¥4,100 (37.64 USD), and both only around for a limited time.
