Study on effective and increasingly popular Zylaria shows improved GABA production

Nuliv Science Zylaria Study

Zylaria is a promising and increasingly popular relaxation ingredient from the reputable innovators at Nuliv Science, the same company behind the popular absorption enhancer AstraGin and the proven fat burner InnoSlim. For those not familiar with Zylaria, it is a proprietary combination of xylaria nigripes, cuscuta chinensis, and panax notoginseng extracts dosed anywhere from half a gram to a single gram.

We’ve used the ingredient both standalone and as part of more comprehensive nighttime supplements and can confirm it delivers on its benefits, helping you get to sleep, improving your quality of sleep, and ensuring you wake up refreshed and ready to take on the day.

The study

Nuliv Science recently announced the findings of a new cell culture study that compared Zylaria against two other botanical treatments. For the study, researchers compared three different extracts, xylaria nigripes extract (XE), xylaria nigripes and panax notoginseng extract (XPE), and the proprietary combination found in Zylaria itself of xylaria nigripes, panax notoginseng, and cuscuta chinensis extract (XPCE)

Researchers investigated the benefits and effects of each of the treatments on various GABA-related markers and amyloid-β protein (Aβ) aggregation in PC12 neuron cells. FYI, PC12 cells are one of the most commonly used cell lines in neuroscience research, including studies on neurotoxicity, neuroprotection, and neuroinflammation.

Findings

All three botanical compositions were found to improve GABA production and reduce the activity of GABA transaminase (GABA-T: the enzyme that breaks down GABA). What this means is that not only does Zylaria help increase the production of GABA, the body’s primary calming neurotransmitter, but it may also help maintain GABA levels for longer by preventing its breakdown.

Another notable finding from the study is that all three compositions demonstrated strong neuroprotective properties by attenuating Aβ aggregation and Aβ-induced injury. Amyloid-β protein is a neurotoxin and a contributor to certain neurodegenerative disorders, including Alzheimer’s disease. Zylaria was found to exert strong neuroprotective effects on the brain cells in a dose-dependent manner.

Researchers concluded, “XPCE (Zylaria) showed the best neuroprotective and GABA releasing properties than XE and XPE owing to high contents of various phytocomponents like polysaccharides, flavonoids, and saponins.”

Zylaria supplements

As mentioned, Nuliv Science’s Zylaria can now be found in many different sports nutrition supplements, where brands have combined the already effective ingredient with other nighttime components for truly impressive results. Some of the products that make great use of Zylaria include Arms Race Nutrition’s Nite Nite, Apollon Nutrition’s knockout From Dusk Till Dawn, and Animal’s recently reformulated Animal PM.
