Kentai throws a vitamin and mineral-infused competitor into the protein powder category

Kentai Top Up Protein Powder

Kentai in Japan extensively covers the protein powder category, as you get with almost every major competitor in other parts of the world, although Kentai goes deep both on a variety of supplements and flavors. Top Up is the brand’s latest offering to go alongside the likes of its other entries, Power Body, Weight Down, Bioactive Whey Protein, Big Whey Protein, and Weight Protein, which separates itself by being more of a comprehensive solution that’s high in protein with a multivitamin infusion.

Top Up from Kentai provides 21.6g of protein per serving from one of the most common sources out there in whey protein, a reasonable amount of carbohydrates at 4.4g with close to none of that sugar, 3.2g of fat, and a pinch under 120 calories. Again, the Japanese brand has given the product a multivitamin twist, where the high-protein nutrition profile comes in combination with a selection of vitamins and minerals, including calcium, potassium, and vitamins C and D, for health and wellness.

Kentai is rolling out Top Up in a variety of flavors, not just the usual one or two. There are going to be five for the multivitamin-filled protein powder in the classic Chocolate and Vanilla, a sweet and salty Caramel, and two fruity creations in Strawberry and Banana. The additional vitamins and minerals ensure Top Up isn’t the most cost-effective product from the brand for the category, but it’s still not too bad at ¥4,690 (31.28 USD) for a rather large 1kg or 2.2lb bag.
