Matsukiyo uses chickpea isolate for its first all-new product under its PERFORMA-X Series

Matsukiyo Lab Perform X Cpi Protein Powder

Matsukiyo Lab is the Japanese sports nutrition company from the major pharmacy Matsukiyo, and this year it is taking things up a notch with a complete rebrand of its athlete-focused Athlete Line into the PERFORMA-X Series. The refreshed line comes with a stronger identity, upgraded Informed Sport certification, and products designed specifically for active consumers and athletes. Leading the relaunch is an all-new protein powder built around a particular source.

The first product under the PERFORMA-X family is CPI Hydroprotein, featuring chickpea protein isolate, a source the company refers to as the “third protein” behind whey and soy. The supplement packs roughly 25g of protein per serving, under a gram of carbohydrates and fat, 113 calories, and it is positioned as a cleaner, easier-to-digest solution. Matsukiyo further highlights that it’s lactose-free profile and water-like, hence why it exclusively comes in refreshing flavors.

The tastes you have to choose from for Matsukiyo Lab’s first all-new PERFORMA-X Series innovation, CPI Hydroprotein, are the all-out citrusy experience Lemon and the sweet Mixed Berry. They come in bags of 900g or 2lbs, which perfectly works out to 30 servings at 30g each. It’s a great alternative to the whey and soy-based competitors the brand already has on the market, giving fans a lighter way to get their protein, and the price is competitive at ¥5,378 (33.58 USD)
