David refines the recipe of its hit protein bar for better taste and shelf stability

Refined David Protein Bar

The David Protein Bar is one of the biggest innovations in the protein bar game for some time, and it’s done it all on the functional side rather than offering some sort of taste or texture never seen before. The product stands out with its genuinely incomparable nutrition profile, led by a strong 28g of protein, no sugar, 2g of net carbohydrates, and just 150 calories. Those numbers are simply an industry first, and not only are the macros incredibly on-point, but the taste is above your average protein bar.

You can already find the David Protein Bar in a number of major retail partners, and rightfully so; again, it differentiates itself by offering something no one else does. Despite its young age, the innovative brand has just reworked and refined its flagship product following the recent release of its first flavor extensions, Peanut Butter Chocolate Chunk and Salted Peanut. Nothing nutritionally has changed with the protein snack; the tweaks are all on the inside, resulting in a better taste and greater shelf stability.

David has optimized the recipe of its self-titled David Protein Bar, moving to a binding system now primarily using maltitol instead of allulose, reducing the Maillard reaction and improving texture over time. Stevia and monk fruit have been completely removed and replaced with sucralose and acesulfame potassium for better sweetness without an aftertaste. Again, the nutrition profile has remained intact with all of the changes coming in the overall eating experience and longevity of the hit protein bar.

The fact that the David Protein Bar has undergone these refinements so early on in its journey is rather impressive, as it usually takes years for a brand to rework the formula of a functional food, and some never change a single thing. The new and improved version is rolling out across all flavors and can already be experienced when purchasing through David’s official online store for four of the six flavors, while the remaining two — Blueberry Pie and Cake Batter — are coming in the next few weeks.
