Mainstream energy drink from XXL gets a flavor outside of its signature Black or White

Xxl Nutrition Ginger Lemon Energize

XXL Nutrition in Europe, where it has a huge reach and extensive availability in its home country of the Netherlands, has expanded its reach in the energy drink race with another flavor of its more mainstream-level competitor. The popular brand has been in the business of beverages for significantly longer than most, and with a host of functional angles, including Energize, which is as straightforward as it gets in energy drinks, blending B vitamins, taurine, and 100mg of caffeine per can.

Until this week, XXL Nutrition had only two options for its Energize energy drink, one black and the other white, and they were named after their individual shades. They were somewhat signature flavors, especially with names like Black and White, but now there is an all-natural taste called Ginger Lemon. The extension blends those exact tastes — ginger and citrusy lemon — and it’s available now at xxlnutrition.com for €1.25 or €6.99 for six. The one downside is that, unlike the original options, the new Ginger Lemon Energize is not guilt-free, with 14g of sugar and 71 calories.
